Musical Ambassadors of Peace Establishing Ongoing Healing Drum Workshops for Yazidi Women

Yazidis are an ethnic minority subject to genocide and sexual slavery under the hands of ISIS.
Musical Ambassador Dilkhwaz Ahmed is in Iraq conducting healing drum workshops in Yazidi refugee camps inside Iraq.

"I think if we are able to help at least 20 women to heal, then we can change the world, or if not we can change their world. . I will be spending time with them to hear their stories and empower them to be proud of who they are. But the most important who they want to become in the future."

Musical Ambassadors of Peace is funding ongoing healing drum workshops to continue Dilkhwaz's work.

We have identified a Yazidi woman drummer who knows the traditional songs. We will be supporting this women to lead the others in weekly drumming singing circles. They will make and wear their traditional clothes, sing their traditional songs and drum at their sacred mountain site.
