Friends,
Across the world, people are using music and story to heal, connect, and build peace — and thanks to your support, our Musical Ambassadors are leading the way. I'm honored to share a powerful update from Uganda that truly embodies the spirit of our mission.
On September 21st, World Peace Day, Abaho and his team brought together 262 refugees from the Kyaka, Rwamwanja, and Nakivale refugee settlements for a day of peace-building dialogues, music, and dance. The event was filled with rhythm, resilience, and heartfelt sharing — a celebration of unity amidst challenge.
Among the performers were former
conscripted child soldiers, now finding renewed joy and belonging through musical interaction. Music and dance are helping them heal emotional wounds, rebuild social bonds, and reclaim hope for the future.
As Abaho shared:
“This was more than an event — it was a testament to the unbreakable spirit within our refugee communities. It reminded us all that peace is not just the absence of conflict,
but the presence of unity, dignity, and promise.
No matter where we come from, we are one people — strong, proud, and full of hope for a brighter tomorrow.”
