As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank you for being an integral part of Musical Ambassadors of Peace. Your dedication and generosity have allowed us to make incredible strides in promoting peace through music this year.

Here are some of the key milestones we’ve achieved together.

In Uganda, Abaho and his team -

• Rescued and integrated 14 child soldiers and 4 former rebel commanders into their program.
• Expanded their reach to Kyaka 2 Refugee Camp, using dance and music to facilitate trauma healing and address domestic and tribal conflicts.
• Strengthened their connections in Rwamwanja and Nakivale Camps to further solidify their presence.
• Initiated an online peace and drumming circle for the Bidi Bidi team, creating a virtual space for healing and connection.

In the US and at the Mexico border Ari -

• Brought the transformative power of music and dance nearly every week to 200-300 asylum seekers in Tijuana. Most of them were children. 
• Facilitated music and movement sessions with South Sudanese and Somali women and Iraqi young men, aged 14-25, as part of a program offered through the San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition. This program uses practicing the arts in community as a means of substance abuse prevention.
• Held Resilience Through Joy workshops and retreats in different parts of the US, sharing elements of what we'll do in the upcoming training in May.

In Gaza -

Rahaf and her band brought the joy of song, dance and musical play to the displaced children living in the tent cities in Rafah. These sessions offered a much needed relief from the stresses of the war.
