Friends,
Musical Ambassadors of Peace is doing beautiful things in the refugee camps in Uganda! Abaho and his team are bringing together people from different nationalities and religions and helping them
remember their common roots.
"We danced our cultural dance and sang together the interrelated Kushi songs, Tutsi related traditional folk songs. The Tutsi came from the Horn of Africa, meaning Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea. So they
share common things like poems, songs and culture. Tutsi are cousins to Ethiopians, Eritrean as well as Somalis."
These events have a tremendous impact on the social fabric of life in the camps. According to Abaho, discrimination and quarrel between Muslims (Somalis) and Christians (Eritrean) has been resolved and a greater sense of community now thrives.
