Ari continues to bring her program of healing dance to Haitian refugees in San Diego, people who have fled from horrific violence in their home country. According to Ari, they are probably the most neglected of the asylum seekers, and the most abused:

“They definitely need more support. So many of the kids have lost siblings on the journey over. It is just heartbreaking to see, parents who have lost children and children who have lost brothers and sisters.

"But they are super fun. Dancing is a vital part of their culture. They say, 'Some go to church to speak to god, we go to our temples and we dance and become gods.' That is their culture. They are so powerful in their spirit, no matter what is happening, because of that beautiful connection that they have with the divine through physical movement and songs and chants."
