Our musical ambassadors in Gaza have expanded their program and are now doing weekly sessions at their local UNRWA school, a UN sponsored school specifically for Palestinian refugee children.

The UNRWA works to ensure that these children have access to quality education, helping them understand the world in which they live. They promote values of tolerance, cultural identity and gender equality, and ensure a safe and secure learning environment that supports their physical and emotional well-being.

"The UNRWA school doesn't offer music classes or events, so we chose this school to teach girls about the fundamentals of music. We started with an ice-breaking activity and then taught them about the musical scale and played with some 'voice training.' Then we asked them what songs they would like to sing and discovered some very talented girls in this class. 

Bringing joy to these girls so important as they are deeply suffering from the remnants of war. The administrator of the school gave us great feedback on how this session helped the girls to interact with others and share happiness in their class. They have asked us to repeat the sessions for all school classes.” - Mahmoud Abushawish, Program Director in Gaza
